Nashville’s George Plaster.. a sports radio legend. His broadcasting career spans 30 years+ from play-by-play announcer for Vanderbilt Athletics, to hosting a sports talk radio show and a sports tv show.
For years, Plaster was a staple in Nashville Sports Radio beginning at Supertalk 997 WTN, later moving to 1045 The Zone (WGFX), 1025 The GameWSM-AM, and now at WNSR.
From 2006 – 2008 George was named to the inaugural “Talkers Magazine” Talkers 250 list, highlighting the most influential talk radio hosts in America. Plaster is also known for his charity work in Middle TN as well, raising over $2 million for the Charles Davis Foundation from 1992-2012 with radiothons and dinners. He also created Plaster and friends Celebrity Bowling Night to benefit Last Minute Toy Store and the Martha O’Bryan Center. While George dominated the sports talk shows in Middle TN, he also was quick to recognize talent and has given a start to many of the hosts heard now on sports radio.
