Pay Grade/Pay Range:  58 Monthly (exempt): – Minimum – $ 42,140.80 Midpoint – $ 61,110.40

Department/Organization: 207551 – WVUA 23

Normal Work Schedule: Monday – Friday 9:30am to 6:30 pm varies as needed

Job Summary: The WVUA 23 Digital Content Manager oversees the creation, development, and management of digital content across WVUA 23 News’ various online platforms. Strategizes, plans, and executes content initiatives to enhance brand visibility, engage target audiences, and drive online traffic and conversions. Improves the station to better fulfill its role as a hands on laboratory for students.

Required Minimum Qualifications: Bachelor’s degree and two (2) years of experience; OR Master’s degree and some experience.

Additional Required Department Minimum Qualifications: Must have valid U.S. driver’s license. Must be at least 19 years of age and have an acceptable Motor Vehicle Report that is in compliance with University policies. Applicants under the age of 21 will have some driving restrictions.

Skills and Knowledge: Foundation in journalism with an understanding of newsroom operations, journalistic ethics, and industry standards. Proficient in WordPress or similar content management systems. Understanding of all social media platforms and Google Analytics. Strong writing, editing, and proofreading skills, with a keen eye for detail. Excellent project management and organizational skills. Ability to handle multiple projects simultaneously. In-depth knowledge of digital content trends, best practices, and emerging platforms in news organizations. Proficient in content management systems (CMS) and marketing automation tools. Familiarity with SEO principles. Ability to interpret data and metrics to inform content strategies and measure performance. Creative mindset. Ability to think strategically and propose innovative content ideas. Strong interpersonal and communication skills, with the ability to collaborate effectively with cross-functional teams. Familiarity with graphic design and multimedia tools.

Preferred Qualifications: Three (3) years experience in digital content management in a similar role and/or industry.
